Event Description

Times Unseen, The Marsh’s ongoing project to chronicle this time of political turmoil, is having its second event! We will be asking you to bring in ten minutes of material that tells of the personal impact of our current politics on your life and the life of the people around you. This event will be hosted by the incomparable Karen Ripley.

Times Unseen is a long term project designed to explore the effect the current political changes will have on the personal lives of individuals. It is an exploration in which, rather than waiting for the future to give us durable experience enclosed in an immutable past, you are invited to tell your stories in the uncertain now, with its awkwardly woven threads of hope, fear, expectation, and disappointment. How to tell a story while it is happening? We invite you to help us figure out how.

The first eight people to sign up will get up to 10 minutes each to try out new material. Sign up will begin at 7:00pm. We are inviting any member of the greater Marsh community to attend. But also, if you know people in the wider Bay Area community who have a good story to tell about the current politics, feel free to invite them. We are hoping that Times Unseen open mics will become a regular event. This event will be recorded and archived.
