This is why I think this is so. We gather, we prep, for a wonderful day with family and friends up to and through Thursday. Then there’s still the luxury of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. What could be better then an outing to your local theater to enjoy with family and friends something so iconically and enjoyably Bay Area.
And like Thanksgiving, there are so many choices: turkey, mash potatoes, sweet potatoes with marshmallow, sweet potatoes with pineapple (my very own recipe), string beans with almonds, homemade cranberry sauce, the canned jellied stuff, my husband’s most delectable stuffing both regular and gluten free, three kinds of pie, ice cream, whip cream. Heaven…
Oops, we were talking about Thanksgiving weekend Marsh choices!
Yup, like the choice laden Thanksgiving, it’s a Marsh feast! There’s Will Durst’s hilarious BOOMERAGING (final two performances), Don Reed’s equally hilarious SEMI-FAMOUS, HOLLYWOOD HELL TALES FROM THE MIDDLE (also final two shows). And in Berkeley, there’s Jinho “Piper” Ferreira’s, COPS & ROBBERS (what could be more apropos in light of Ferguson).
And Brian Copeland’s THE JEWELRY BOX (to celebrate its opening weekend, we are offering $20 OFF tickets for this and next weekends only, with discount code “blackfriday14 ”).
From Don Reed
Don Reed wanted me to give a big thanks to everyone who came and celebrated his birthday last Sunday. He said this is the first birthday in memory that he performed and it made it a great one. And the audience gifts! A key lime pie, flowers, candy and so many hugs!
And I want to give a huge thanks to all our Marshians this year. What a great year of your support.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.
