Memphis, Barbeque, Blues! — October 23, 2014

Rebecca Fisher’s Memphis On My Mind (SF Best of Fringe) directed by Charlie Varon starts this weekend at The Marsh Berkeley. You may remember Rebecca’s first play, The Magnificence of the Disaster, critically acclaimed here and in Memphis where it was named Best Play of the Year.

Memphis, Tennessee not only home of the blues and birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll, it is the domain of Sarah Mackey, the maid who raised Fisher’s mother and with whom Rebecca shares both a violent loss and a profound connection. Sarah’s grandson?  Well, that’s the story.
