Mushroom Spectrum – May 9, 2017

Dear Marshians,

Aren’t we all on the spectrum?
Manic. Happy. Depressed. OCD. etc.
Isn’t it just to what degree? 5% 25% 99%

Adam Strauss’ OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) was so bad, that he couldn’t leave the house to get to his stand-up comedy gig because he couldn’t decide what shirt to wear.

This man is FUNNY!

THE MUSHROOM CURE is the hilarious, insightful, and brilliant story of Adam getting beyond his OCD jail. From antidepressants to magic mushrooms, we join Adam on his self-medicating, therapeutic, life journey. It feels universal and at the same time, hilarious and edgy. How we struggle to expand beyond our own container. To live with and explore our limitations, our excesses, our potential.

Adam truly gave me a gift.

I hope you, too, will take this truly enjoyable trip. We are offering pairs of comps to this week’s shows to the first five who use the passcode ‘spectrum.’

On a similar theme, any fan of EAST 14th might know Don Reed’s Blinky OCD and anxiety issues. Don can’t wait to see The Mushroom Cure Wednesday.

So please join us. Adam, Don, me and rest of the crew, tomorrow, Wednesday, opening night! There will be cake!

In art we trust,
Stephanie Weisman
Founder & Artistic Director

P.S. This week is Maureen Langan’s FINAL SF performance of DAUGHTER OF A GARBAGEMAN. Ann Randolph is back with LOVELAND & INAPPROPRIATE IN ALL THE RIGHT WAYS.
