It was wonderful sitting down with Robert Kelley last week and doing a “From the White Couch” interview. He founded and has been the Artistic Director of Theater Works for the past 48 years. Compared to Kelley, I’m just an Artistic Director “babe” at a mere 28 years. We talked for almost an hour. Discussing subjects ranging from what it was like to direct Lynne Kaufman’s TWO MINDS at The Marsh to why he started and has stayed at Theater Works all these years.
And good reviews keep coming in.

TWO MINDS post show talk back Friday, May 25th with the playwright and cast.
There’s just a few more chances to see TWO MINDS. It must close June 9.
Speaking of CLOSING. Next Tuesday, May 29th is WIll Durst’s final performance of DURST CASE SCENARIO: Midterm Madness. As a special final pre-show experience, WILL AND WILLIE are back at 6pm with special guest Christine Pelosi (yes Nancy’s daughter). Christine is chair of the CA Democratic Woman’s Caucus, proponent of “me too” movement, exposing harassment in the state capital and so much more. So excited to welcome Christine Pelosi to The Marsh sh on Tuesday.
There’s a great article in Berkeleyside about Adam Strauss’ THE MUSHROOM CURE. They call it “piquant and poignant.” Rumor has it that Adam did another macro mushroom guided trip last week. Can’t wait to hear how it went.
Don Reed’s East 14th prequel plus, CAN YOU DIG IT? – THE 60s is extended ONLY through June 16.
Congratulations to Megan Codington and Esther Ehrensaft for filling out a survey and winning and annual pass to The Marsh.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
All my best,
Artistic Director & Founder
