Marsh Madness!

First ever Marsh Madness Marathon – up to 32 performance teams will compete to see who can REALLY perform – March 9 – 11, 2018

Storytelling, improv, comedy, drama, monologues, music…it’s your chance to show your creative side and compete for cash prizes!

Teams of 1-5 performers will present  a 40-minute program of their creation and choosing on one of our 2 stages in San Francisco. Each team will receive a score based on two criteria: 1) audience judging and 2) amount of money raised for The Marsh through donations and ticket sales. The top 4 teams will advance to a “Final Four” showdown on Sunday, to be judged by a panel of of Marsh VIPs and celebrities, at the end of which we will crown a Marsh Madness champion team.

Register your team for $35 , schedule a time slot, and get your family and fans to buy tickets to your show or donate to The Marsh.  Each team will be judged by the number of ticket holders in their audience,  plus money raised in donations for the Marsh.  Every dollar your team raises not only increases your chances of winning Marsh Madness but goes to support one of the Bay Area’s Cultural Treasures!

    • $1000
        Marsh Madness Champion, who will also be offered a run at The Marsh
    • $500
        for the First Runner Up, plus a Marsh Rising
    • $250 for the Second and Third Runner Up, plus a Marsh Rising

Your team may consist of from 1 – 5 people, of all ages and abilities – during your 40 minutes you may present one long piece or 2 shorter pieces. You may perform existing or new work but you must hold rights to perform your material. All forms of performance are eligible as long as it does not involve animals or fire. Your team may perform solo performance, stand-up comedy, a short play, dance, mime, music, storytelling, magic, juggling, burlesque, you name it!

Don’t forget that your 40 minutes includes time to get yourselves on and off stage as well as any props you’ll be using. There will be no storage available for props, so you must get all props on/off stage yourself.
