Show Description
A Map of Myself is a 75-minute, one-woman revolution on war, immigration, language, home, history, DNA, and everything in between. It’s a performance-based on the now 20-year-old Sara Abou Rashed’s life story combining acting, classic storytelling, and dynamic spoken-word poetry, in which she recounts her and her family’s journey of immigration from war-torn Damascus, Syria to an America that welcomed her. Sara offers a humane understanding of the immigrant experience and asks of us the most personal and yet universal of questions: How does where we come from shape us? And what does it mean to find “home”?
