About the Show
In 2 Women, 2 Mothers, Vicki and Merry take a deep dive into the tribulations and triumphs of this complex relationship. Their two solo performances explore the transformative nature of mothers and daughters— what it means to be a daughter and a mother, sometimes at the same time. Each original piece explores identity and resilience with personal stories, humor, and humanity.
In It’s About Time, Vicki navigates the challenging end-of-life journey as she transitions from daughter to mothering her own mother.
In Therapy Fund, Merry explores her relationships with her two daughters, laughing at her own mistakes along the way.
Artist Biographies
Vicki and Merry last appeared at the Marsh with their double bill 2 Women, 2 Stories in 2013. They performed this show in Fringe Theater festivals across the country winning 2 awards for best audience attendance.
Vicki Dello Joio is a performer, director, master teacher and speaker, She has been a performing member of Living Arts Playback Theater for over 20 years.
Merry Ross is a drama therapist, teacher, actor, and director. A long-term performing member of Living Arts Playback Theatre ensemble, Merry taught theater at Laney College for 10 years.
