Cleanse-SING is a new series from CJs FitnesSing!™
brings each person face-to-face with the core of their voice. Each vocalist- whether speaker, singer, teacher, or general voice user- will reflect on their personal vocal identity through guided thought and vocal exercises. Participants will experience a heightened sense of vocal awareness, a deeper understanding of how the mind-body connection to their voice, and a refreshed sense of hope about their true vocal potential.

Join Candace Johnson, guest singer at Carnegie Hall, U/C vocal professor and fitness trainer extraordinaire for CJ’s FitnesSing!™, a fun, engaging way to combine vocal and physical fitness training. No singing or workout experience required. Participants will work on vocal technique and corresponding body exercises (adaptable to all levels) and will learn an inspiring song each session
About the Instructor
Praised by Opera News for her vocal clarity, dramatic presence, and expressive interpretation, soprano Candace Johnson, has concertized widely, including guest appearances at Carnegie Hall and The Manhattan Center. In 2018, Johnson premiered her one-woman show, VOX in a BOX at UC Berkeley, followed by a 2019 “Marsh Rising” performance. The show is a musical biography of how she uniquely fused her black music heritage and classical training to find her “voice”. On the music faculty at UC Berkeley, Johnson teaches voice classes and specializes in the research and performance of classical works by African-American composers. Johnson earned her doctorate in voice performance from the University of Michigan.
