About the Show

Barbara has to clean out her oddball uncle’s house. He’s dead. Does she find his porn stash? Of course. Is that the strangest thing in there? Not by a long shot. Barbara explores family secrets from an unusual perspective. It’s about what happens when someone becomes the in-case-of-emergency person for the elephant in the family room. My Dead Uncle’s Porn Collection is about confronting the damage done by a dysfunctional family and coming through it with grace and humor. Yes, humor! So many aspects of the story are just ludicrous. You can’t make this stuff up!

Artist Biography

Following a career in business communication, Barbara discovered solo performance (like so many others) in David Ford’s class. What started as an attempt to blow off steam turned into two solo shows, (so far). She is a frequent performer at The Marsh and other Bay Area performance venue and has performed at The Marsh’s In Front of Your Eyes Festival, The PlayGround Free-Play Festival, The Binge Fringe Festival at Santa Monica Playhouse, Orlando International Theater Festival, Cincinnati Fringe, Tampa Fringe, Ooley Theater Women’s Wit & Wisdom Festival, Rogue Festival, Soaring Solos Stars Series and elsewhere, to laudatory reviews.
