Really Enough
Written and Performed by Margaret Zhao
Pleasanton, CA, USA
Really Enough is an award-winning memoir of mine, a true story of Tyranny, Courage and Comedy. It’s about my life growing up in China to survive the oppression and endure poverty with the power of humor. And also my life as an immigrant in the US surviving the culture shock with the power of humor. A combination of narration and standup comedy to inspire the audience.
About the Artist
Margaret Zhao is an award-winning author, motivational speaker, TaiChi/Qigong teacher and very funny standup comedian. Her memoir Really Enough; A True Story of Tyranny, Courage and Comedy, charts her daunting struggle for survival, freedom and forbidden love. Unfairly labeled as Enemy of the State under Chairman Mao, Margaret had to use humor and wit to survive oppressive tyranny and then to handle the often hysterical challenges of culture shock in America. Margaret’s stories of crossing cultures create surprises and uncontrollable laughs. With her great sense of humor and inspirational life story, Margaret has entertained and delighted audiences of all ages at the Hollywood Laugh Factory, comedy clubs, schools, churches, fundraising events and many other venues
