About the Show
Raised In Hell – The Play is a one man dramedy starring Deon D. Price. The stage play is developed from his book, Raised In Hell; A non-fiction family dramedy about overcoming obstacles, exploring family bonds, and survival. The book is a true story of a family’s struggle to endure in a challenging time and an even tougher environment. The story takes place during Deon’s formative years in Los Angeles, CA during the era of crack cocaine and gang violence.
This poignant and humorous one-man show takes you on a journey through the trials and triumphs of one man’s extraordinary family. Witness firsthand the struggles they face, the unwavering love that binds them, and the remarkable spirit that propels them forward. Deon’s only goal is to “Get out of L.A., somehow, some way!”
Artist Biography
Deon D. Price is the author of the book, Raised In Hell, a non-fiction family dramedy about the humor and hardship of a dysfunctional upbringing upon which this stage play is based.
Deon is a veteran performer, motivational speaker, and stand up comedian. Variations of “Raised In Hell” have been performed multiple times at The Marsh Theater in San Francisco.
He is also a Youth Life Skills Coach with 30 years of experience developing youth programs throughout the Bay Area. Through his organization This Youth Generation, he has delivered motivational talks and workshops to youth, parents, educators and youth workers.
His brand of motivational comedy is delivered with both humor and professional precision. As a columnist, he has written weekly and monthly articles on the subject of modern youth culture in print and on-line.
