About the Show
When Patience Wilson {Sherry Glaser} has a stroke, she is faced with mortality in the form of Death himself {Juan Wulff} knocking at her door. What ensues is a extra dark comedy with a Musical flair. This groundbreaking new work asks the question; Can Life and Death reconcile their differences and find love?
Artist Biographies
Sherry Glaser (Playwright/Performer) is originally from New York City has been doing comedy for over 40 years. She is the star and author of 4 One woman shows, TAKING THE HIGH ROAD, (Comic confessions from behind the Cannabis Curtain), The ADVENTURES OF SUPER ACTIVIST MOTHER, OH MY GODDESS! and the Longest running one woman show in off-Broadway Herstory – FAMILY SECRETS. Sherry is a published author of THE FIRST PRACTICAL HANDBOOK FOR CRAZY PEOPLE, of her memoir FAMILY SECRETS, and MAMA’S 1 ST POCKET CHICKTIONARY.
Ricci Dedola (Director)
Ricci Dedola has been directing for the last 36 years. She considers herself an actor’s director, as she’s an actor herself. Ricci has been directing Sherry Glaser since 2015 when they took Sherry’s show “Oh My Goddess” to the United solo festival on Broadway. She has been directing at the Mendocino Theatre Company since she arrived here in 2012 starting with “39 Steps” and continuing next season with “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
Juan Wulff (Performer)
Originally from Venezuela, Juan Wulff says close encounters with death have crafted his soul into becoming a Death Dula for a dear friend in 2023. His patient/doctor experience started with Hodgkin’s Disease in 1982, Squamous Cell Carcinoma in 2024 with 3 other cancers in between along with 40 years of living with HIV. While his theater experience has only been with The New Conservatory Theater Center in San Francisco as a facilitator/actor for the AIDS youth aware program, he met Sherry Glaser at Dragon’s Theater in Gualala in 2024 by chance and forged the relationship that sparked her to write Life and Death; A Love Story.
