Show Description
For over 30 years, Josh Kornbluth has developed his monologues through a series of improvisations — often at The Marsh. Now he’s starting from scratch again – this time based on what’s currently on, and in, his mind. For over six months, he’s been mired in a deep depression. At the same time, our country has been rapidly descending into fascism. So Josh finds himself in a Resistance on at least two levels: against MAGA’s depredations, and against attacks from within his own psyche. Can he help save our democracy even as he struggles to pull himself together? Will he have to perform these improvs from a psychiatrist’s couch? What Is To Be Done? is a work in (and of) progress.
Josh Kornbluth (Playwright/Performer) has been creating and performing autobiographical monologues for over three decades. He also has written and starred in two feature films, directed by his brother Jacob Kornbluth: Haiku Tunnel and Love & Taxes. For two years he hosted his own interview program on KQED-TV in San Francisco, cleverly titled The Josh Kornbluth Show. His “Citizen Brain” videos (citizenbrain.org) have been viewed by over half a million people. He has a Substack called “But Not Enough About Me” (https://joshkornbluth.substack.com/), which you can subscribe to for free. You can also find him at joshkornbluth.com. Josh lives in Berkeley with his wife and son. Artist Biography
