“Wildly funny! Ady is truly captivating as she shares how her daily life has become a spiritual journey — one to which many San Franciscans can relate. Her realizations in her amusing anecdotes from everyday life, which make a show called ‘From Piss to Bliss’ something much deeper, and more satisfying, than a good joke.” –SF Examiner
“It’s called “From Piss to Bliss,” and the reason for what’s a seemingly off-putting title at the beginning becomes perfectly clear by the end of her hour-long story.” –SF Examiner
The Marsh San Francisco presents comedian and storyteller Ady Lady in From Piss to Bliss, a riotous tour through 21st-century San Francisco and its best intentions. In this hilarious new solo show, Ady doggedly seeks out higher consciousness amidst the often deranged reality of modern day life. She desperately seeks enlightenment on Muni, discovers the powerful spiritual lessons of riding Segways, and utterly exhausts herself on a breast cancer walk, while trying to answer the question “Can we be our best selves during our worst moments?”
ADY LADY, a native of the Bay Area and a graduate of UC Berkeley, has been performing on stage for much of her life. In 2003 she co-founded Heretic Theatre and performed original works with them throughout the Bay Area until 2009. She wrote and performed her first one-woman show, What Ever Happened to Sara Jane? which premiered at the 2012 SF Fringe Festival and was performed to enthusiastic audiences at The Marsh, Stage Werx, and the Los Angeles Women’s Theater Festival. From Piss to Bliss was originally developed with David Ford and presented in February as a Marsh Rising, and will now receive a full run.
