About the Show

In this darkly comedic solo show, Noemi Zeigler rekindles her dream of becoming a singer. When a record producer slash spiritual guru leads her on an ayahuasca trip, things get surreal: she joins a cult, gets baptized in a swimming pool, and discovers that perimenopause is the new puberty. Instead of landing a record deal, she lands in jail.

Artist Biography

Noemi Zeigler earned her MFA in Film Directing from the American Film Institute and teaches Film and Video at UCLA Extension, Cal State East Bay, and Laney College.

Her screenplays have won awards at Broad Humor and Female Eye Film Festivals and placed as a finalist in the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, Austin Film Festival, and Cinestory TV. Her films and music videos have screened at South by Southwest, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Caostica in Spain, and the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival. A short version of her documentary Get Pushy screened at SF Doc Fest and was featured in Film Threat.

Noemi workshopped You’ve Been Served at Monday Night Marsh, Tell It On Tuesday, Sunset Solos at Sealevel, and The Pack Theater in Los Angeles. She then debuted the full-length show at the Rogue Festival in Fresno and the Winnipeg and Edmonton Fringe Festivals in Canada. Now, she’s thrilled to bring the show full circle with her own Rising show at The Marsh—the theater that first gave her and the project a shot.
