About the Show

An intricate mandala of laughs, painted joke by joke, and ceremonially swept away at the end of the night:

Balinese scooters. Portuguese military installations. Brazilian waxes. Indian ashrams. Serbian kitesurfers.

A secret tantra party. A deadbeat baby daddy. A planetary death doula. A Rube Goldberg joke factory. The last plane to Lisbon before the world shut down.

Safety-ism. Presbyopia. Cyborgs. Incels in service to the Goddess. Shade grown coffee. Cervical orgasms. And the slow realization that enlightenment doesn’t get you very far.

Alicia Dattner’s new show is farm-to-funnybone, post-apocalyptic, biodynamic artisanal comedy — for the spiritually adventurous and existentially exhausted.

Artist Biographies

Raised in an extremely liberal branch of Judaism known as an ashram (that’s a joke), Alicia’s spiritual roots – and propensity for poking fun at them – go deep. Alicia did her first standup set at 18 and graduated from Hampshire College with a degree in standup comedy and filmmaking.

Mentored by several talented comedians over the years, including W. Kamau Bell (CNN, FX), Eugene Mirman (Flight of the Conchords), and Bill Santiago (Comedy Central), she’s been rocking clubs like The Improv and Gotham Comedy Club, playing in San Francisco, New York, London, Hollywood, Honolulu, Bali, and Bombay.

She’s performed with Ali Wong, Maria Bamford, Moshe Kasher, Arj Barker, Marc Maron, and many more luminaries.
