Welcome to Monday Night MarshStream!
As many of you know, The Marsh has postponed all in-person shows until further notice, but that won’t stop Monday Night Marsh from continuing to bring you the unique stories we all love. Monday Night MarshStream is our new Monday Night Marsh with a few twists. Every Monday at 7:30pm, we bring you 4 live pieces from performers, both familiar and new, via zoom. Audience members who attend the live stream will also get the chance to perform a short 5 to 10 minute piece! Will it be you?
Join us every Monday at 7:30pm. Wonderful things can happen.
HE WANTS TO RUN by David Kleinberg
David hates running and dogs, but then ends up running with his neighbor’s dog, Butler, for 13 years in Cloverdale. He Wants to Run is the story of what Butler teaches David about living and dying.
He Wants to Run marks David Kleinberg’s fourth work as a solo theatre artist. His acclaimed Hey, Hey, LBJ is about his year as an army combat correspondent in Vietnam. It was performed in Washington D.C.; New York; Sydney, Australia; and in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The sequel to LBJ, Return to the Scene of the Crime dealt with David’s return to Vietnam for the first time in 50 years. Both Vietnam works had runs at The Marsh Theater in San Francisco. David was also editor of the San Francisco Chronicle’s Sunday entertainment magazine for 14 years during a 34-year editing/writing career at the newspaper. As a stand-up comic for 20 years, David appeared with Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, and Richard Lewis.
