Internships for College Students
The Marsh offers internships for college course credit. We are happy to work with you and your advisor to create an internship curriculum that suits your individual interests. School year internships typically range from 6 to 25 hours per week for the duration of your quarter/semester, depending on the requirements of your academic program. Summer internships can be up to 40 hours per week, depending on the requirements of your academic program. We find that internships that last a minimum of 3 months are the most worth-while to both parties.
Recent interns have come from universities such as Westmont College (Santa Barbara, CA), University of California Berkeley (Berkeley, CA), University of San Francisco (San Francisco, CA), San Francisco State University (San Francisco, CA), and Indiana University Bloomington (Bloomington, IN).
The Marsh has also partnered with the City of Berkeley’s YouthWorks program to offer internships to youth residing in the City of Berkeley.

Past Intern Testimonials
“I really appreciated how welcoming and supportive my supervisor was from the start, and I’m so grateful for the trust she placed in me to take on meaningful work. Getting to be part of such a unique and creative organization has been such a valuable experience. I’ve learned so much, not just about design and communication, but also about working in a dynamic, community-driven environment. Thank you for your guidance, feedback, and for giving me the space to grow and explore my skills.”
— Marketing Intern Summer 2025
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing, particularly in social media, while exploring so many different areas of the field. During my time at The Marsh, I had the opportunity to work on graphic design, promotional marketing, merchandise creation, outreach, social media, and collaborate with artists and performers. I started this internship feeling slightly intimidated by the expectations and responsibilities that came with the role, but I’m leaving with new skills, valuable experiences, and so much more confidence in my abilities. I’ve learned that marketing can be much more creative and collaborative than I initially imagined, and I’m grateful to have experienced that firsthand in such a unique arts community. It has been such a pleasure working with everyone at The Marsh, and I’m excited to carry everything I’ve learned into the next chapter of my marketing career.”
