Awarded Best of 2017 San Francisco Fringe Festival Honors

Fringe of Marin – Awarded a Critics Circle Best Actor Award for his portrayal of John Held Jr.

“‘Keeping Up With The Jorgensons’ proved to be a delighted hour of mirth mixed with adolescent angst brought on by a cast if characters that could make All in the Family, Rosanne, and Married…with Children seem a bit too Disneyfield.” –George Heymont, Huffington Post

Show Description

The year is 1982. Reagan is President, E.T. is released, and Jeremy takes a road trip with his week-end father to Orange County. Forced to repeatedly tickle his father’s feet, sleep in his grandmother’s bed and go to an unknown relative’s wedding, he’ll do and say anything that will secure a visit to the most magical place on Earth: Disneyland.

Artist Biography

Jeremy Julian Greco is a San Francisco-based actor, director and writer.  Greco’s first solo show, With Held, directed by Mark Kenward, was based on six months of interviews with San Francisco mail artist and writer John Held Jr. Greco performed With Held throughout the Bay Area, including at The San Francisco Fringe Festival and the Marin Fringe Festival, where Greco won a Critics’ Circle Best Actor Award for his portrayal of the artist. In 2013, the Huffington Post wrote, “With Held is a quietly transformative work, insightful, compelling, humorous, and ripe with the stage should always possess – pathos.”

Greco also penned The Thrilling Adventures of Elvis in Space and The Thrilling Adventures of Elvis in Space II: Elvis Rex.  Both plays were set to the tale of Oedipus and performed in the style of a 1940s serial radio show.  The plays premiered at the San Francisco Fringe Festival to sold out crowds. Elvis in Space was featured on Pirate Cat Radio for six consecutive weeks.

In 2012, Greco played “Cousin Bubba” on the Discovery ID television show “I (Almost) Got Away With It.”  He has performed in Woody Allen’s God: A Play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Greco has performed his newest solo work, Keeping Up with the Jorgensons, also directed by Mark Kenward, at The Yes to Everything Festival (2017) , the Nugget Festival (2018) and at the San Francisco Fringe Festival (2017) to sold out crowds where it won a  “Best of” award honors. Greco will perform the play in October 2018, at the United Solo Festival in New York City.
