Artist Biography
Having emerged from San Francisco’s Fillmore district as a youth, Algiin’s passionate search to find himself took many a dark path. Through hustling, incarcerations, and addiction, into recovery. It was recovery that he began to take art more seriously, when a British movie director (Karl Francis), gave him his first role in a movie, “Murder in Oakland.”
With the pandemic shut down narrowing creative opportunities, he began to direct his attention towards writing and solo performing–where he uncovered a new love. Writing several pieces these last few years in collaboration with David Ford an FIPPP.
Algiin immediately began to study acting at night (Jean Shelton’s) while working various day jobs. Subsequently getting involved with local theater productions, and some small film & television roles. This evolved into acting and owning a small business teaching hot yoga and meditation.
