How to Watch

About the Performer

Elliott Kerman was a founding member of the a capella group, Rockapella.  Over the18 years that he was the group’s baritone, they toured extensively throughout the US and Japan, made numerous records, appeared on a number of TV and Radio commercials, and were the house band on the 295 episodes of the hit PBS kids TV show “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?”

Elliott’s first love was jazz; he grew up listening to his Mom’s extensive jazz record collection.  After he left Rockapella, he fronted a jazz combo for several years, performing a mix of his original compositions and jazz standards.  Since then, he’s been working as an accountant in the Film & TV business.

Elliott is tremendously grateful to AnCan for all of the support he’s received through the challenging times of a Prostate Cancer diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment.  The experience has been helping him refocus his priorities, working less and spending more time with the people he loves and doing the things he loves like singing, and kickbiking around NYC.

ABOUT SOLO ARTS HEAL

Solo performers present real-life, empowering stories. Transformative experiences for audiences. A theater of resilience that celebrates overcoming mental and physical life challenges and offers hope and inspiration. SOLO ARTS HEAL includes excerpts, talkbacks, and Q&A that provide education and advocacy. Readings or clips of performances will be shared by artists in conversation with Gail Schickele, whose work as a manager and producer of solo artists inspired collaboration of performing arts presenters with artists on a medical track based on their personal experience. The collective creative vision? To help communities through educational outreach and the healing power of the Arts.
