Become a volunteer usher for performances today! Email our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@themarsh.org
How It Works:
Volunteer ushers are scheduled on a monthly basis. Shifts are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. On the 20th of every month, the volunteer coordinator sends out a monthly newsletter with a list of all of the shows and information pertaining to the performances scheduled for the following month. As soon as you receive it, you may begin sending the coordinator your requests using the protocol outlined in the newsletter.
Locations:
The Marsh seeks volunteers for both of our theater locations in San Francisco and Berkeley. We make sure we’re clear as to which location and stage you are assigned whenever confirming your shifts via email.
Duties:
Once you are assigned a shift(s), you will report to the House Manager upon arriving to your shift. Volunteers assist with seating patrons and selling concessions, although sometimes you may assist with other duties requested by the House Manager.
Time Commitment:
Call time for all volunteer ushers is always 60 minutes prior to show time. (For example, if a show starts at 8pm, your shift will begin at 7pm). Although we send out the volunteer newsletter every month, your only commitment will be the shifts you request; you may volunteer as little or as often as you would like. You will also have the opportunity to view the performance as a regular member of the audience during your shift, in addition to one guest.
Cost:
There is none! As a thank you for volunteering your time, you and a guest have the opportunity to view the performance as regular members of the audience for free.
Contact:
If interested in volunteering, email the Volunteer Coordinator, Alexa Almira at volunteer@themarsh.org and we will add you to the monthly newsletter list.
We thank you for your support and interest!
