The Marsh Discovery Series

Each year, in addition to our main season runs, The Marsh presents several limited runs to showcase a wide range of exciting new work emerging from The Marsh community. These may include shows by emerging up-and-coming talent, established Marsh all-star performers experimenting with a unique story or concept, as well as people from all walks of life who have developed powerful stories at The Marsh.  These are not ‘workshop runs’.  Rather, they represent the culmination of a dedicated and lengthy creative process, and offer to the audience an opportunity to discover something new and different.  Shows produced as part of The Marsh Discovery Series are limited runs with a maximum of 8 performances.  So get your tickets now to discover some of the most exciting and unique work The Marsh has to offer.

About the Show

In Victory for the Recycled Virgin, a naïve, divorced virgin bride of the 1950s grabs you by the heart with all 80 of her years as she exposes the culture bred lies she and her husband have been living. When a revelation launches the painful collapse of the marriage, she catapults through the fearless and funny episodes of her midlife madness until she discovers a sexy, independent woman. Or am I a take-charge bitch? she wonders. Like life, Victory is full of surprises including some hot tips for parenting your own mother through a delayed adolescence. “The Buddha got his insights while sitting under a Bodhi Tree. Houston arrives at the same realizations following a much more enticing path of bourbon, dating and clowning around.” San Diego Theatre Reviews.
