Bob Brader • Writer / Performer Bob Brader is an award-winning writer, actor and monologist. His trio of totally true solo shows: Spitting In The Face Of The Devil, Preparation Hex and Smoker have toured all over the U.S. and Canada winning multiple awards and critical and audience acclaim. Spitting In The Face Of The Devil, Bob’s gripping story of personal survival and triumph, won 7 Best of Awards including “Best Show” of the London Fringe and “Best Script” and “Best Encore” at the United Solo Theatre Festival and has raised both funds and awareness for its many nonprofit partners across North America including NYC’s Safe Horizon, Manatee Children’s Services in Florida and Prevent Child Abuse California. Suzanne Bachner • Director / DeveloperSuzanne Bachner is an award-winning playwright and director. She is Bob Brader’s partner in art and life and the proud director and developer of all of his internationally acclaimed, award-winning solo shows including his forthcoming brand new one, It’s A Rocky Life. Suzanne is a frequent solo show director including Gloria Rosen’s celebrated Listen…Can You Hear Me Now? and her own award-winning solo show, The Good Adoptee starring Hayley Palmer, which has toured to the London International Fringe Festival and all over the U.S., most recently, to the Stroum Jewish Community Center in Seattle last February. Evy Yeager • Founder & Director, TraumaRoot is an advocate, writer, and educator on the subject of trauma. She brings a decade of experience in education, communication, community health, and emergency management to her work. After experiencing multiple types of trauma, Evy says she was lucky to have several sources of support, but still felt that something was missing, which led her to found TraumaRoot.
TraumaRoot’s mission is to support individuals and groups in developing a functional understanding of trauma, and in facilitating recovery and resilience for themselves and others. Through training and consulting, TraumaRoot aims to make trauma education more affirming, accessible, and actionable.

Solo performers present real-life, empowering stories. Transformative experiences for audiences. A theater of resilience that celebrates overcoming mental and physical life challenges and offers hope and inspiration. SOLO ARTS HEAL includes excerpts, talkbacks, and Q&A that provide education and advocacy. Readings or clips of performances will be shared by artists in conversation with Gail Schickele, whose work as a manager and producer of solo artists inspired collaboration of performing arts presenters with artists on a medical track based on their personal experience. The collective creative vision? To help communities through educational outreach and the healing power of the Arts.
Gail Schickele (Host) champions arts & sciences taking her left and right brain wherever she travels. As an arts manager, consultant, and producer dba SAGE Artists, she convened an ‘Arts Heals’ group of solo artists at APAP 2020 whose unique stories of physical and mental challenges evince the healing power of The Arts. The COVID lockdown inspired Stephanie Weisman to create SOLO ARTS HEAL to share these outstanding stories of resilience, dramatic and comedic, for the entertainment and benefit of communities everywhere. Gail’s expertise in marketing, management, booking and production has served various theaters, festivals and events nationwide. Trained as a journalist in New York and Colorado, Gail has covered Colorado state politics and the environmental landscape of the Rockies. Environmental science inspires her educational and advocacy work in California with Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, and for the League of Women Voters for which she’s worked as an administrator and reporter on environmental issues Including legislation, climate science outreach, and co-chair of an environmental speakers series. Gail is honored to host SOLO ARTS HEAL where artists powerful stories offer audiences great performance and ‘informance’ on issues related to health and the environment, inexorably linked.
